Supporting Women in Trucking: WTFC's Bridging the Barriers Western Canada Conference

At CayCan Safety Consulting Ltd., we believe a stronger trucking industry starts with making space for every voice in it. That's why we're excited to share that we'll be returning to the Women’s Trucking Federation of Canada's Bridging the Barriers Western Canada Conference. This year it will be taking place on May 26 & 27, 2026 at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Calgary, Alberta.

What Is Bridging the Barriers?

Bridging the Barriers is the WTFC's signature conference series focused on advancing the role of women in Canada's transportation sector. The Western Canada edition brings together drivers, industry leaders, advocates, and allies for two days of connection, learning, and real conversation about what it takes to build a more inclusive industry.

CayCan Will Be There

CayCan's own Kris Fulgham will be returning as Master of Ceremonies for this year's Western Canada event. It's an honour to once again be part of a conference that's doing meaningful work for the future of our industry, and we're looking forward to bringing the same energy and enthusiasm to Calgary in 2026.

The Lineup

This year's event features two standout speakers.

Keynote speaker Leslee Montgomery is an award-winning mental health advocate who has spent her career supporting workers in high-stress, high-hazard environments. She's the creator of the STRONG Method — a framework built to reduce psychological risk and develop resilient teams. Her keynote will focus on how women in transportation can navigate the unique pressures of the road and the industry with clarity and strength. For anyone in trucking who knows how demanding the mental side of this work can be, this one is worth the trip to Calgary on its own.

Speaker Ruby Murphy-Collins brings over 30 years of experience in the trucking industry and a message that resonates: feeling stuck is not the answer. Her session, Brave Moves: The Power of Courage in Your Career, draws on her own story to explore how courage drives progress — both personally and professionally.
